Our Professors have been recognized as Research Supervisors by various Universities in India. Active research is going on in the fields of Data Mining & Networking. The focus areas of the Department for R&D activities are primarily Software Engineering, Data Mining, Networking & Client Server Technology, Cryptography & Network Security, High Performance Computing and Embedded systems. An R&D Center has been established in the department to take up research projects and also to cater to the needs of faculty, who are carrying out their research work. Students are also involved in the research activities with the faculty. In addition, the faculty is executing R&D projects funded by external agencies as part of project works for final year students. The faculty to its credit has more than 400 papers published in different International/National journals and conferences.
Today, RCE has taken a step forward in the view of student’s requirements in using of E-
resources. The growing need for electronic information resources in this digital era has given
birth to electronic resources as there is a diversified hunt for information. With the advent of new
technologies, the role of library and information professionals are having a hard time in
collecting, organizing, sorting, storing and disseminating resources in this pandemic. The digital
era of electronic information resources have opened a new kind of avenue whereby RCE students
have access to an overwhelming range of information sources which are easily available at their
fingertips by the click of a mouse. Now the libraries{materials, subject related videos, power
point presentations} have become the electronic information center where collection of
electronic information resources are accessible via internet. To meet the needs of the students,
academic libraries have moved towards digital repository and formed consortiums in order to
share materials to enable students to meet their needs.
There are various types of electronic information resources which are available in open access
and commercial forms for the students provided by the college. They are as,
CD-ROMS, E-journals, E-Database, e-books, abstracting and indexing databases, e-clippings,
e-courseware, e-standards, e-patents, e-theses, blogs, e-newspapers, theses and dissertation, e-
discuss forums.
Electronic information resources are useful to each and every individual to get instant, relevant,
comprehensive information at their finger tips/doorsteps. Keeping these factors in view, some of
the major features of e-resources are,
